Commercial Solar Thermal Incentive Program (Connecticut)

The Clean Energy Finance and Investment Authority is offering grants and loans to non-residential entities for solar hot water installations. Only customers of United Illuminating or Connecticut Light & Power are eligible. An energy audit or proof of past (recent) energy efficiency improvements is required. There is no set amount for the grant or loan; rather CEFIA will fund the projects based on project economics, preferring those that require the least amount of funding.

CT Clean Energy Communities

The Clean Energy Communities program, offered by the Clean Energy Finance & Investment Authority and the Connecticut Energy Efficiency Fund, offers incentives for communities that pledge their support for energy efficiency and clean, renewable energy.

In order to participate in the program, a municipality must meet three requirements:

1. The municipality must make the Municipal Energy Efficiency Pledge and reduce municipal building energy consumption 20% from baseline levels by 2018.

CT Solar Loan

The Clean Energy Finance and Investment Authority is offering a pilot loan program, CT Solar Loan, to provide homeowners with 15-year loans for solar PV equipment. The loans are administered through Sungage. Interested residents must apply online to be pre-qualified for the loan. Once the loan is in place, an approved installer files permits, order equipment, and installs the system on behalf of the resident. See the program web site for application materials.
