Xcel Energy offers a variety of incentives to commercial and industrial customers in the New Mexico service territory. Rebates are available for central air conditioning systems, heat pumps, rooftop units, chillers, room controls, lighting measures, lighting controls, pumps, motors, variable speed drives and EC motors. Additionally, custom rebates and in-depth energy studies are available through Xcel Energy's program. Custom rebates are worth up to $400/kW saved and efficiency studies for large commercial and industrial customers can cover up to 75% of the study cost.

Xcel's Residential Program provides incentives to install energy efficiency measures in homes and small businesses in Xcel service territory. Rebates are available for evaporative cooling systems, refrigerator recycling, LED light bulbs, and CFL light bulbs. All equipment must meet program requirements. Through the Solar*Rewards program, Xcel Energy is purchasing renewable energy credits (RECs) from customers in New Mexico who install photovoltaic (PV) systems. The RECs that Xcel purchases will help the utility comply with New Mexico's [http://www.dsireusa.org/library/includes/incentive2.cfm?Incentive_Code=N... renewable portfolio standard] (RPS), and provide a financial incentive for homeowners and businesses to install PV systems.

The Alternative Energy Product Manufacturers tax credit may be claimed for manufacturing alternative energy products and components, including renewable energy systems, fuel cell systems, and electric and hybrid-electric vehicles. Alternative energy components include parts, assembly of parts, materials, ingredients or supplies that are incorporated directly into end-use products.

PNM provides a range of incentives for commercial customers to increase the efficiency of new and existing facilities. Buildings which exceed the current building code by 10% can get 8 cents per estimated first year kilowatt hours saved. Buildings which exceed the current building code by 20% can get 10 cents per estimated first year kilowatt hours saved. Buildings projects which utilize enhanced commissioning may also receive additional incentives.

PNM is offering home builders a rebate for each Energy Star-qualified home they build in PNM service areas. Every Energy Star-qualified home must include effective insulation and air sealing, high performance windows, doors and skylights, tight construction and ducts, and independent testing and inspection. The builder must arrange for a qualified Home Energy Rater to inspect the new home.
